Panthers Officially Become Sellers, Make 2 Big Names Available

According to TSN’s Pierre LeBrun, the Florida Panthers are now sellers. They have two of the bigger names available at this season’s trade deadline, and it will be interesting to see how this changes the market.

LeBrun posted, “The Panthers lost again last night and my understanding is they’ve made the decision to be sellers as far as listening on pending UFAs, which most notably include the likes of AJ. Greer and Sergei Bobrovsky. Bobrovsky has a 16-team no-trade list. Doesn’t mean he will be dealt for sure, just means Florida is listening.”

Bobrovsky will immediately become the most intriguing name on the goalie market. While names like Jordan Binnington and Jesper Wallstedt might be out there, Bobrovsky is a multi-time Stanley Cup Champion and a pending UFA. He’s an ideal rental for a contender if they can convince him to join their roster.

The issue is his $10 million cap hit, which would be $5 million if the Panthers are willing to retain 50% of his salary. He also carries a 16-team no-trade protection clause.

Greer, 29, is a 6-foot-3, 209-pound left winger. Drafted 39th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in 2015, he’s built a reputation as a physical, hard-hitting bottom-six forward.

In 2025-26, he’s enjoying a career year with 11 goals and 22 points in about 61 games, a +8 rating, 90 penalty minutes, and nearly 150 hits, averaging 11:40 per night.

A pending UFA with an $850,000 cap hit, Greer offers playoff experience, depth scoring, and edge at a low cost—making him an attractive, low-risk rental for contenders seeking toughness and energy.
