Former Brazil star Kaka believes Carlo Ancelotti is “the right person” to lead the Selecao through a successful World Cup, where he believes they are among the favourites.
Ancelotti took over at Brazil last May, following his departure from Real Madrid, leading them through the end of their qualifying campaign.
He is now preparing to lead them out at the World Cup for the first time, with Haiti, Morocco and Scotland drawn in Group C alongside Brazil.
After the draw was made in December, the Opta supercomputer gave Brazil a 5.6% chance of claiming a record-extending sixth World Cup title in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
It has been 24 years since their last triumph, but Kaka has confidence that Ancelotti can get Brazil back to their best on the world stage.
“Ancelotti is the right person at this moment for Brazil, which, given its history, is always considered amongst the favourites,” Kaka told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Maybe not in the top three, but it’s a good team, and Carlo is Carlo.

“I’m confident, I’ve been lucky enough to play at three World Cups, and I know how exciting it can be.
“Having a good tournament after so many disappointments would be great for the country.”
Brazil’s World Cup campaign begins against Morocco on June 13, before facing Haiti six days later and rounding off their group against Scotland.
Only once since their title in 2002 have Brazil gone further than the quarter-finals, finishing fourth on home soil in 2014.
