Pokemon Pokopia brings with it a fresh new take on Pokemon where you can build the towns of your dreams. Even with a game like this, there are big questions that are asked with every release. One big one is, can Pokemon Evolve in Pokopia and if so, how?

Can Pokemon Evolve in Pokopia?
The unfortunate answer to can Pokemon Evolve in Pokopia is no.
The reason is that there is only one of each Pokemon in the game. Meaning, when you find Charmander for the first time, that will be the only Charmander you will get throughout the game. This was intentional so that each Pokemon has its own needs that can be met and habitats that it belongs to.
There are Evolved Pokemon Though
That is correct, there are not just basic Pokemon or first-stage evolutions in Pokopia.
As has been shown since the early trailers, Pokemon Pokopia will have evolved forms of Pokemon in the game. For example, you can get Riolu and Lucario in Pokemon Pokopia. They are found in different ways and the Riolu you find will not evolve into Lucario, but you can get both of them.

Will Evolution be Added?
As of right now, there is no telling if evolution will be added.
Mainly, because we do not know the future of the Pokopia franchise. While they expected the game to do well, no one expected it to be the
highest-rated Pokemon game in history. So it feels likely that we will get a DLC next for Pokopia.
There is even the chance of a second game in the future. But if the Tera Leaks were to be believed, then the roadmap did not signal for a second game anytime soon.
That being said, money talks and if The Pokemon Company believes a Pokopia 2 will sell as well as the first did, they will change their plans to get it added.
