Chile’s Diego Escobar has been in outstanding form for Racing 92 in France. This has not gone unnoticed as the Cóndor has been named as the best hooker in the Top 14 for the month of February, 2026.
Escobar has played in 13 matches thus far in the 2025-2026 season for Racing 92. Twelve have been Top 14 matches and one was in the European Challenge Cup. The ongoing season is Escobar’s second at the Top 14 club. He joined Racing 92 from Selknam.
The 25-year-old Escobar has 19 caps for Chile. He made his debut against Russia in 2021. He went on to became a regular in time for the World Cup and is now Chile’s leading forward in professional rugby. Both he and his brother, Alfonso Escobar, helped Chile overcome Samoa to qualify for Rugby World Cup 2027.
