Mike Rupp: “We have heard some scuttlebut on MacKenzie Weegar, what are you hearing on that front?

Kathryn Tappen: “That’s had your day occupied.

Friedman: “Yeah, that’s the reason I’m late. So Mackenzie Weegar, the Flames and the Utah Mammoth have the parameters of a deal for Weegar. And basically it was taken to Weegar this afternoon, and he’s deciding. You know, he has the protection, he has the right to make that call.

NHL Rumors: Montreal Canadiens, Utah Mammoth, and the Philadelphia Flyers

And like I said, it’s still pretty fresh. So, and you know as I wrote, I think Weegar knew there was a chance that he could be traded. But, you know, as you guys know, it’s one thing to realize it could happen, it’s another thing to have a drop on your lap.

So I think he’s processing it, and you’ll make a decision. Like, you know, we saw Tyler Myers, he went for about a week until he got something he liked from Vancouver. And Colton Parayko is another player right now that they’ve taken it to him. St Louis has for Buffalo, and he’s got to decide.

And, you know, I will say something, and I don’t know if it’s, I don’t think it’s malicious, guys, but it’s a little unusual. Vancouver situation was a little different, because they said that Myers wasn’t going to play. But the Parayko and the Weegar thing for three guys, or two guys, in a week for it to get out before they’ve agreed to it. It’s a little weird, but I think it shows you how intense the competition is on some of these players right now.
