A Colton Parayko trade to the Buffalo Sabres is awaiting his approval

Darren Dreger: The St. Louis Blues and Buffalo Sabres have a deal in place, but it’s awaiting the approval from Colton Parayko, as he has no-trade protection.

It is sounding like the Sabres will be sending first-round pick Radim Mrtka and a first-round pick as part of the deal.

Amber: “Meanwhile, Colton Parayko, this deal is officially done. And again, it’s not a rental. Parayko, now off to Buffalo.”

Friedman: “Is it done?”

Amber: “Oh, is it not?”

Friedman: “No. So he hasn’t, all seen, it’s also, you know, it’s interesting. As I was driving down here, I got a phone call from someone who was really angry about what’s going on this week. Like, Myers situation was a little bit different, because he was scratched, and everybody kind of knew that he was thinking about a deal.

But now the Parayko’s has gotten out, and the Weegar gotten out, and the Weegar’s on me, before players had agreed to accept them. Aad someone called me today and was like, ‘Why is this happening? This should not be happening. Players should not be pressured like this.’ So I just wanted to put that out there, because I’m doing some of the reporting.

NHL Rumors: Scouting NJ-FLA, and the Philadelphia Flyers

Parayko, Buffalo and him, they do have a deal in principle, and they’re waiting for Parayko to accept it. Same deal.

Now, in St Louis, Dave, GM Doug Armstrong went to the players a little bit ago, last little while, and told them, ‘Guys, we’re going to be making changes, and some of you are going to be asked about your clauses, so you better prepare it in your mind about how you feel about it. And that’s what Parayko is doing.”

Amber: “It’s so complicated because it’s not a unilateral decision by the team to say, ‘Hey, we’re going to make this move.’ You have to check so many players have these no-movement, no-trade, minimal trade deals.”

Friedman: “I’ve tried to get rid of you for years, but you have like a no-fire clause.”

NHL News: Tyler Myers, Kiefer Sherwood, and Michael McCarron

Amber: “I’m not going anywhere.”
