Trick Williams may not know his WrestleMania 42 status yet — but he’s already thinking about what that moment could mean for his career.
While speaking on the Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show, Williams was asked about his potential role at WrestleMania 42 as speculation continues about a possible match with Sami Zayn. During the interview, the host suggested that Williams would likely appear on the card given his recent rise on SmackDown. But Trick made it clear he hasn’t been told anything official about WrestleMania yet: “Yeah, I mean, I don’t know anything either. But I would imagine things are moving right now.”
Even without confirmation, Williams didn’t hide how important the event is to him. Like many WWE Superstars, he sees WrestleMania as the ultimate goal in the business. He also made it clear that he isn’t just looking for a spot on the show — he wants to reach the very top of the industry’s biggest stage.
“I’d love to have a match at WrestleMania. That’s what it’s all about. I want to main event WrestleMania. That’s why you get into this business. If you don’t want to wrestle at WrestleMania, then…”
The comments come as WWE continues locking in the final pieces of the WrestleMania 42 lineup. According to a recent Bodyslam.net report, a possible Trick Williams vs. Sami Zayn match has been discussed internally as one of the remaining SmackDown bouts still under consideration.
The two have crossed paths a few times since Williams moved to the main roster, including a house show match and a brief encounter during an Undisputed WWE Championship number-one-contender fatal four-way. That limited history could make a one-on-one bout feel fresh if WWE decides to move forward with the idea.
For now, though, Trick says he’s in the same position as everyone else — waiting to see how the final WrestleMania pieces fall into place. If WWE does pull the trigger on the match, it could be a massive spotlight moment for Williams as he continues establishing himself on the main roster.
