The ITF MT 1000 for all age divisions, which was to have followed the Individual World Championships (which are cancelled) was also cancelled today by the ITF. The next issue, at least for the ITF World Championships is that anyone who did not cancel their hotel 24 hours in advance of the start of their stay would be charged for three nights stay. A couple of us paid for an entire stay before the cancellation and are hoping to only pay for the days stayed. Stay tuned.
it was a gorgeous day today, not a cloud in the sky and just a light breeze. Even though we started late today, we had time for the obligatory three meals and two practices (and I even got in my workout and stretching)! We did 2/1, played singles points, singles games, doubles…and more players are arriving each day including the Mexican 60s team. We are starting earlier tomorrow and perhaps playing some mixed or some sort of tournament amongst the players now here…American women, a Canadian, German players, Mexican men, a Brit, some Irish players and a couple of Aussies thus far.
We all converged at dinnertime like lemmings, to eat, talk and laugh. We are sorry the worlds was cancelled but appreciate how lucky we are to be safe and together.
