As previously reported, WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg (also known as Brian James) has voluntarily left his position as co-lead of creative for Friday Night SmackDown.
According to PWInsider.com, Road Dogg decided to resign from WWE in person on Thursday, March 5. The report indicates that James openly expressed his dissatisfaction with his role and offered his resignation from the creative team. This information dispels any notion that his departure was part of a “creative readjustment” initiated by WWE; instead, it was a decision made independently by James.
The timing of his resignation is somewhat ironic, as WWE had recently announced meet-and-greet events with Road Dogg scheduled for the following month during WrestleMania 42 Week at WWE World in Las Vegas, Nevada. PWInsider added that, when questioned about James’ resignation from his creative role, sources clarified that James is still under a WWE Legends contract, which is separate from his employment contract with the company.
Given this information, the report suggests that it remains “entirely possible” for James to participate in his scheduled appearances at WWE World.
