Braden Montgomery is the heir apparent to center or right field, and has had an impressive spring. Ditto Sam Antonacci, who has had as impressive a rise up the minors ranks as Montgomery and shows signs of holding his own in the majors in spite of a slight middle infield logjam. Pitchers Tanner McDougal, Noah Schultz and Hagen Smith have had rockier climbs toward the South Side, but are blue-chip starters all.
You definitely preferred bats over arms, however!
The results make sense, though, as White Sox hitting has been abysmal over the past few seasons and there are still gaping holes in the lineup.
