Magic Johnson Comments on Caitlin Clark's Behavior in Latest Move

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is now with Team USA as it prepares for the upcoming FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament.

Clark played in just 13 games in the 2025 WNBA season and averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.8 assists and 1.6 steals. She last suited up for the Fever in July 2025 due to a groin injury. That said, her upcoming stint with Team USA will mark her first competitive action in eight months.

Clark arrived in Miami on Friday and joined her USA teammates for the first practice of training camp on Saturday. The qualifying tournament starts on March 11 at San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Before the Fever guard joined Team USA, however, she apparently worked on an ad for financial services company Capital One ahead of college basketball’s March Madness. Interestingly, she joined popular personalities such as Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley and Samuel L. Jackson in the commercial.

Capital One shared a behind-the-scenes video of its collaboration with Clark, Johnson and the others on Instagram. What stood out in the clip was the Los Angeles Lakers legend’s comment about the Fever guard, particularly regarding her personality and behavior on set.

Johnson praised Clark for being a great sport and for how well she worked with the rest of them during filming.

“Caitlin has a great personality, too,” Johnson said of Clark. “She’s into it just as much as we’re into it. You can poke fun at her.”

For what it’s worth, Clark said in the video that she had a lot of fun working with Johnson, Barkley and Jackson despite the fact that it was the first time she had met all three. She noted that they were “easy to work with,” while also reflecting on how she was able to work with the icons after growing up watching them.

Johnson has always been supportive of Clark despite never having met her before. During the Fever star’s rookie season, the NBA icon commented that Clark and Angel Reese were “playing great” and “doing great things for the league.” He went on to advise the two to “keep playing,” per TMZ Sports.

In another instance, the Lakers legend stated that Clark should call Larry Bird for advice, especially when it comes to navigating her increased popularity at the time.
