Pearl Gonzalez Makes Carla Jade Eat ‘Burrito’ Comment With Misfits Boxing Decision

Pearl Gonzalez Makes Carla Jade Eat ‘Burrito’ Comment With Misfits Boxing Decision

Pearl Gonzalez defeated Carla Jade with a unanimous decision during a Misfits Boxing card on Saturday, just two days after controversial “burrito eater” comment at the last press conference.

Gonzalez attacked Jade with activity, two-shot combinations, and ducked under whatever responses the former ring card girl threw. In the opening minute alone there was clearly a skill gap between the effective influencer and the pro striker, with Pearl rocking Carla’s head back with her stiffer shots, particularly with the right hand.

Jade’s shots were again more telegraphed in the second round, which ensured it was easy enough for Gonzalez to avoid them, or shrug them off, firing back with more technical punches like those to the body and hooks to the face.

Jade’s only real positives was bloody damage scored on Gonzalez’s nose, footwork, and the fact that as Pearl continued to press forward, it provided Carla with opportunities to land, even if she threw shots all sluggish and awkward.

Gonzalez started the fourth with a stiff right hand, and then popped her head back with solid jabbing, too. Body shots then following it up with another stiff punch to the face, to remind judges that, when on form, she could dominate through pace, activity, and power. Few things missed in the final moments, landing multiple shots in a row to put a punctation mark on her work in the penultimate round.

While ‘Ambitions of a Ridda’ played as they waited on the official verdict, Gonzalez celebrated by dancing a crip walk like the result was a foregone conclusion. And, in truth, it was, with Gonzalez prevailing with scores of 48-47 across the board.

“F*** bullying,” Gonzalez said after the latest result in boxing. “Fight for your dream, fight for your life.”

Her comment was perhaps a reference to the bad blood between them. During a verbal back-and-forth, reacting to Gonzalez saying Jade had four kids and no baby daddy, Carla clapped back by saying she was a “burrito eater” — a reference to Gonzalez’s Mexican heritage. They even exchanged shots at various face-offs.

It threatened to spill over on the night but it was a relatively controlled fight, with Gonzalez the clear winner — clearer, perhaps, than the 3-2 scores suggested.

“She was tough, I knew she would be, but I had the better game-plan, team, Manny Robles Jr., my team back home, my family — without a team, thank you Misfits,” Gonzalez finished. “Whatever an incredible experience this is. I am the true Misfits champion, baby.”
