Maryse is sharing the wild story behind one of her favorite photos with husband The Miz — and it apparently almost got them arrested.
The longtime WWE couple recently posted a romantic photo from their time in Paris, showing them standing together in the middle of a road with the famous Arc de Triomphe towering behind them.
While the image looks calm and picture-perfect, Maryse revealed on Instagram that capturing the moment was anything but relaxed. According to the former WWE Divas Champion, the couple ran into the road, posed quickly, snapped a single photo, and rushed back before authorities could intervene.
“Almost got arrested in Paris for blocking traffic… but the Arc de Triomphe photo was worth the risk.”
Maryse explained that the entire moment happened in seconds, as they darted into position, took the shot, and quickly got out of the street.
“We ran across the street, stopped for two seconds, took one quick shot, and ran back before anyone could stop us. No retakes, just one take and somehow it worked.”
The photo clearly paid off, as the shot shows the couple standing together in the middle of the empty road with the iconic monument perfectly framed behind them.
The Miz and Maryse first met while working together in WWE and have remained one of wrestling’s most recognizable couples ever since. While The Miz continues to appear regularly on WWE television, Maryse has focused more on business ventures and life outside the ring in recent years.
Still, moments like this show the two are clearly enjoying life — even if it means risking a run-in with Paris authorities for the perfect photo.
