Tony Khan Provides Injury Update On Penelope Ford

Before last night’s episode of AEW Collision, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan provided an unfortunate update regarding Penelope Ford’s injury status on his official Twitter (X) account.

Khan began by previewing the episode and revealed that Ford would be out of action due to her injury for an extended period, potentially weeks or even months. He did not provide additional details regarding the severity of her injury but noted that updates would be shared as they became available.

Khan also mentioned that Ford had originally been scheduled to team up with Megan Bayne to face Timeless Love Bombs, which consists of “Timeless” Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa, during last night’s Collision. However, due to her injury, Ford was replaced by Lena Kross. Kross and Bayne ultimately emerged victorious, aided by interference from The Death Riders’ Marina Shafir.

Ford last competed on the February 25th episode of Dynamite, where she teamed with Bayne to challenge the Babes of Wrath, consisting of AEW TBS Champion Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron, for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship. Ford sustained her injury while performing a Moonsault on the outside. Since she was unable to continue, the match ended in disqualification after Kross attacked The Babes of Wrath.
