The Warriors will face UMass Lowell in the Hockey East quarterfinals Wednesday night at Lawler Arena.
Merrimack enters the tournament as the No. 8 seed after Northeastern defeated Boston College on the road Saturday night, leapfrogging the Warriors into seventh place in the final standings.
Merrimack went 2–1 against the River Hawks this season. The Warriors dropped the season opener between the teams before responding with two straight wins, including last Thursday’s regular-season finale, a 5–3 victory.
It will mark the first playoff meeting between Merrimack and UMass Lowell since the 2023 Hockey East semifinal, a 2–1 win for the Warriors.
