WWE star Trick Williams believes the current wave of talent coming up through WWE could mark a unique moment in company history, particularly when it comes to representation on the biggest stage of them all.
Williams recently appeared on the Laura Rosenberg Show alongside Ebro Darden, where the rising WWE star spoke about the momentum he and other young talents are experiencing. During the discussion, the topic shifted to the growing presence of Black wrestlers gaining major opportunities in WWE at the same time.
Williams specifically pointed to the success of fellow WWE standouts Oba Femi and Je’Von Evans, noting that the three of them potentially appearing at WrestleMania during the same stage of their careers would be something rarely seen before.
“Man, I’m grateful. You know what I mean? Like you just said how crazy it is that myself, Javon, and Oba Femi should all three be having a match at WrestleMania as rookies. I don’t think you can say that ever has been possible at a time in WWE history.”
While acknowledging how meaningful that moment could be, Williams also made it clear that his comments were not meant to dismiss the contributions of previous generations of Black wrestlers. Instead, he described the situation as a rare alignment of timing and opportunity.
“It’s been a while since a single Black male superstar had a one-on-one match at WrestleMania, period. It’s a lot of tag teams. That’s not shade to all the brothers who came before me, because they’ve been so talented and I learned from a lot of them. I’m just saying how grateful I am for this moment in time.”
Williams’ rise has been rapid in recent months, and his confidence continues to grow as WWE continues positioning him as one of the company’s breakout stars. With WrestleMania approaching, the possibility of seeing Williams, Oba Femi, and Je’Von Evans share the spotlight could represent a major shift in how WWE showcases its next generation of talent.
