Building on a season-long run of college-themed exclusives, including nods to the Michigan State Spartans and USC Trojans, Booker now turns to Oregon for inspiration. The result is a Ducks-colored edition of the Nike Book 2 crafted in its “Spiridon” form, a configuration that subtly pulls directly from the mid-late 1990s Nike Running design language.
Mesh-heavy paneling, layered overlays, and flowing line-work give the Book 2 “Spiridon” a texture that feels lifted from the brand’s performance archives. This specific build has been a favorite of Booker’s as he’s stuck to this style loyally since the model debuted in January. As you know, the Ducks’ relationship with Nike runs deeper than uniform combinations and bold color palettes; it’s foundational to the brand’s identity as founder Phil Knight was once a Duck himself.
Although Oregon Player Exclusives are typically drenched in the program’s unmistakable green and yellow, this pair goes for a subtler route with the simple hit of UO at the heel and the shiny yellow that appears on the upper Swoosh. A matching yellow sits at the fore-foot and the tongue.
Though Booker’s own college allegiance belongs to Kentucky, this ongoing PE series reads as a broader tribute to Nike’s support of college hoops. And with March Madness about to turn up, expect more college PE styles to surface on the ‘gram. As with all true Player Exclusives, this Oregon edition is reserved strictly for Booker with no retail release expected.
