WWE has added a new championship match to the upcoming March 9 episode of RAW, and the announcement came straight from Raw General Manager Adam Pearce.
RAW will take place at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, and the card continues to grow as WWE moves deeper into the road to WrestleMania. WWE shared footage of Pearce running down the lineup for the show. During the announcement, he confirmed that Penta will defend the Intercontinental Championship against El Grande Americano. The match adds another title bout to an already busy night of action on RAW.
The show was already set to feature a major women’s gauntlet match with Lyra Valkyria, Bayley, IYO SKY, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, and Ivy Nile competing for a future shot at the Women’s Intercontinental Championship currently held by AJ Lee.
Another match already announced for the show will see Rusev go one-on-one with Oba Femi following their tense confrontation on this week’s episode.
With the addition of Penta defending the Intercontinental Championship, next week’s RAW is shaping up to be a loaded episode as WWE continues building momentum toward WrestleMania.
