2026 New York 7s pools announced as SVNS Series gains momentum

The pool draw for the upcoming HSBC SVNS New York tournament, scheduled for March 14–15 at Sports Illustrated Stadium, has been confirmed, setting up several high-stakes clashes in both the men’s and women’s competitions.

Men’s Pools

Pool A features a heavyweight lineup with South Africa, Australia, France and New Zealand set to battle for a place in the knockout rounds. The group brings together three traditional sevens powerhouses alongside France, promising tightly contested matches throughout the opening day.

Pool B also promises exciting matchups, with Spain, Fiji, Argentina and Great Britain drawn together. Series leaders Fiji headline the group and will look to continue their impressive run in the SVNS campaign. However, they will face strong resistance from Argentina, who have consistently challenged the top sides, while Spain and Great Britain will be eager to climb the standings with strong performances in New York.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

In the women’s competition, Pool A sees series leaders New Zealand grouped with France, Fiji and Great Britain.  The Black Ferns Sevens, who currently top the standings, will be favorites to progress, but France and Fiji both have the ability to challenge the defending champions. Great Britain will also be targeting an upset as they look to improve their position in the series.

Pool B features another competitive lineup with Australia, USA, Canada and Japan. Second-placed Australia will face opposition from the USA as well as Canada and Japan.
