Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick will hope to see his side return to winning ways when they face Aston Villa on Sunday.
The former England international oversaw six wins from the first seven matches of his tenure as the club’s caretaker head coach, before a 2-1 defeat against Newcastle United last time out.
Carrick will hope to see his side improve when they host the Villans, who are one of the Red Devils’ fiercest rivals in the race to finish in the top four of the Premier League but have also endured their own inconsistencies of late.
Ahead of the game, it is emerging that Man United and Aston Villa are also set to battle it out off the pitch in the race to sign a Premier League defender.
As reported by Sports Boom, Man United and Villa are both interested in Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson.
The report claims that the two Champions League qualification hopefuls have both been monitoring the US international, who has been quietly building a reputation as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League over the past couple of seasons.

Robinson, 28, joined the Cottagers from Football League side Wigan Athletic back in 2020 and has since made more than 200 appearances for the west London outfit across all competitions.
According to the report, both Man United and Aston Villa are preparing moves to sign the American this summer, with a deal likely to cost in the region of £25 million.
Robonson’s contract with the Whites is set to run until the end of the 2027/28 season, but the report suggests that the player himself is desperate to challenge himself at the highest level and compete in the Champions League at some point during his career.
Both Man United and Villa may be able to offer the US international the chance to play in the Champions League next term, which could make it difficult for Fulham to keep hold of the player.
