Richard Holliday has been gaining attention across the independent wrestling scene, and recent speculation about a possible signing with TNA Wrestling has only added to the conversation.
During a recent appearance on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Holliday addressed those rumors directly after the interviewer brought up online reports suggesting that some people within TNA are pushing for the company to sign him.Holliday admitted he is fully aware of the speculation circulating online, noting that fans have been tagging him in posts and articles discussing the situation.
“Go ahead, ask. Of course I’ve seen it. Yeah, I mean people are tagging me. People are tagging me left and right in these articles.”
While the possibility of joining TNA has generated plenty of discussion among fans, Holliday made it clear that he is not fixated on one particular destination. Instead, he said the wrestling business as a whole excites him and he remains focused on continuing to build his brand and presence.
“The business excites me. There’s so many avenues in this business that is so exciting right now. But you know what excites me every single day? What I’m going to put on Instagram and Twitter. That excites me on a daily basis.”
Holliday also shared advice he regularly gives to younger wrestlers when he hosts seminars. According to him, focusing too heavily on where you want to end up can prevent you from appreciating the opportunities you already have.
“I say it all the time and I tell a lot of young wrestlers this specifically when I do seminars because I get hired to do seminars all the time because I’m extremely smart and people want my knowledge spread around. I always tell young wrestlers — and old wrestlers too, it doesn’t really matter — if you continue to worry about where you want to be, you’ll never enjoy where you are.”
He went on to explain that his approach is to treat every appearance like a major moment, regardless of the stage.
“You have to make where you are a big deal. And I know for a fact that everywhere Richard Holliday goes, whether that show in its entirety is a big deal or just a segment that I’m in is a big deal. It’s a big deal. If you see Richard Holliday live, it’s a big deal.”
For now, Holliday appears focused on continuing his current run across the independent wrestling scene while letting his work speak for itself. With increasing attention from fans and industry figures alike, the speculation surrounding his future in major promotions like TNA may only continue to grow.
