Team Espresso – Dugout Diary by Joe Boesch

Team Espresso – Dugout Diary by Joe Boesch

Drinking coffee is a national pastime in itself, as I myself enjoy a good cup or two, especially when I’m working, writing, or in casual conversation. That can also be said for Team Italy competing in the World Baseball Classic as they celebrate a home run with a cup of espresso. That’s right up my alley.

With their unique caffeine habits, Topps Now has an exclusive WBC card, and their reasoning will make a coffee lover fall in love with this team.

Here’s the wording on the back of their Topps Now card:

A caffeinated Team Italy got off to a roaring start in their World Baseball Classic opener, dominating in an 8-0 shutout of Team Brazil. Making its return in the win was the team’s famed espresso machine, which first appeared during the 2023 tournament. “In Italy, we drink coffee about 20 times a day,” Italy manager Francisco Cervelli said. “It’s a tradition.”

Until then, see you at Cafe Espresso
