Some obvious and some only if you squint, tonight’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw featured a lot of storytelling within the tag team division of World Wrestling Entertainment.
Outright being the most obvious of what will be mentioned here is the headline of this article, which is that Finn Balor has been excommunicated from The Judgment Day.
Liv Morgan was ringside to accompany Raquel Rodriguez in her attempt to win the gauntlet match to earn a shot at AJ Lee’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship. In doing so, she inadvertently caused the distraction to cost Rodriguez, as Stephanie Vaquer came out to fight with her. But there wasn’t any tension there, as they went out to the ring to accompany Dominik Mysterio for a promo where he lashed out about how he deserves a rematch for the Men’s Intercontinental Championship, and that he blamed Finn Balor.
Balor headed out to the ring alongside JD McDonagh to say Dom needs to fight his own battles and after several years of trying to guide him, he’s realized that Rey Mysterio was right to call Dom spoiled.
Dom struck Balor, who had no friends present as McDonagh, Morgan, and Rodriguez all joined in a 4-on-1 beat down. What does Roxanne Perez have to say about this, given she’s been tight with Balor? That remains to be seen.
Elsewhere in the show, Je’Von Evans was approached by Kofi Kingston and Grayson Waller. As Waller came in hot, Kingston told him to back off and leave them alone. Kofi then said to Evans that they got off on the wrong foot and he sees a lot of himself in The Young OG, offering him the idea that they could team up and he could learn from the former WWE champion. Evans was told that he didn’t have to make a decision right then, so this will be a story to track going forward.
The Usos showed loyalty to The Bloodline in their attempt to get CM Punk to apologize for his comments about Sika from last week’s show. They made it clear that this wasn’t about Roman Reigns, but they’ll nevertheless still be standing by their family throughout this feud.
Lastly, on a funnier note, Danhausen had cursed Original El Grande Americano because he didn’t want to team up with him. This resulted in Chad Gable being taken out of his scheduled Intercontinental Championship match, so no tag team in the near future for Danhausen and Americano, it seems!
