Former Australian world No. 20 Daria Saville has welcomed her first child. The tennis star and her husband, fellow professional player Luke Saville, became parents to a baby boy, Louie Alex Saville, on March 6. A few days later, the couple shared the first photos and videos of their newborn on Instagram.
“Say hi to Louie Alex Saville,” Daria wrote on social media alongside sweet photos and videos of the baby, which also revealed his exact time of birth—8:53 PM.
Last year, Saville explained that she and Luke might have started a family earlier if it weren’t for the demands of professional tennis. The relentless travel and intensity of the WTA Tour made it difficult to plan for parenthood.
In November 2024, the 32-year-old, who was born in Moscow and later represented Australia, spoke openly about freezing her eggs in hopes of becoming a mother in the future.

“But I’m still playing and I still want to compete, and for that reason we thought, ‘OK, let’s do the egg freezing,’” Saville said at the time. “I was able to do that while I was injured because you need a bit of time.”
She also revealed that she had been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal condition that can affect fertility. Now, less than a year and a half later, Saville is celebrating the arrival of her son.
Daria and Luke’s relationship dates back to their junior tennis days, when they grew up together both on and off the court. Their long-time partnership reached a milestone in December 2018, when Luke proposed. Three years later, in December 2021, the couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony.
