Maryse Mizanin recently shared an emotional message on social media as she hit the second anniversary of a life-changing surgery that helped remove a rare pre-cancerous condition from her body. The former WWE Divas Champion used the moment to reflect on her journey and encourage women who may be going through their own struggles.
Maryse had previously revealed that doctors diagnosed her with Serous Borderline Tumors affecting her ovaries and nearby abdominal tissue. During surgery, doctors removed 11 implants around her uterus, ovaries, and connective tissue.
On March 8, 2026, she looked back at the experience and how it changed her life.
Maryse Reflects on Her Health Journey While Preparing To Release a Memoir
Maryse posted photos from her recovery, including one taken in the hospital and another mirror selfie showing her surgery scars. She opened up about waking up from a full radical hysterectomy exactly two years earlier and how the moment affected her.
She wrote that the surgery changed her life. However, it didn’t harness her strength, as she believed that strength was already inside her long before.
“Two years ago today, on March 8, I woke up from a full radical hysterectomy that removed every tumor from my body. It was a moment that changed my life, but it didn’t create the strength inside me, that fire was already there, built through storms I had faced long before that day,” she wrote in her caption.
Her post also came on International Women’s Day, which made the message even more meaningful. Maryse used the occasion to inspire other women who might be facing difficult times in their own lives. She described life as a journey where people keep moving forward even while carrying the weight of past struggles.
Along with focusing on her health, Maryse has also been working on a personal project. She confirmed that she is preparing to release her memoir soon.
“Two years later, I’m still rowing forward with the same fire that has carried me through every chapter of my life, the same fire that pushed me to write the book I have coming soon,” she wrote.
In an interview with People last year, Maryse said she really enjoyed writing the book. She even hinted that she might continue writing in the future because she found the process exciting and hard to stop once she started.
“I wanted to do it forever and then one day I was like, ‘OK, that’s it.’ I loved it. When I start, I can’t stop. I’m actually sad now that I’m done with it. I want to go back. Or maybe I should start a new one, more about my life or something else,” Maryse said.
Her last match happened at the Royal Rumble 2022. In that match, she teamed with her husband The Miz, to face Edge and Beth Phoenix. The couple had also teamed together earlier at WrestleMania 33, where they faced John Cena and Nikki Bella.
Maryse has not wrestled since 2022. However, The Miz has said during his appearance on Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez that a return could still happen “if the right opportunity presents itself.”
For now, Maryse seems focused on her health, her family, and her upcoming creative projects.
