Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Before pivoting to Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42, WWE discussed doing Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell match, per PW Insider.
  • WWE currently plans to keep the Rhodes/Orton WWE title match one-on-one rather than add a challenger or two, according to Wrestling Observer’s Daily Update.
  • According to WrestleVotes, Bron Breakker’s injury status is holding up some of the WrestleMania 42 card, and it’s why Brock Lesnar is doing an open challenge gimmick. If Breakker can go he’ll get the match against Seth Rollins and it could be Lesnar vs. LA Knight. If he can’t, Knight could miss the card altogether in favor of Lesnar vs. Rollins.
  • Bryan Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Live he’s heard there is confusion within WWE regarding where NXT’s Stand & Deliver premium live event will air, though there was a mention on Peacock.
  • Kevin Knight signed a new multi-year deal with AEW earlier this year, per Fightful Select.
  • Discussing reports about Konnan’s health on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said, “He’s been in and out of the hospital, mostly in,” for about the last six weeks. Meltzer said he believed Konnan would address the situation soon, and sent best wishes.
