Eagles finally make offseason splash, reach agreement with Riq Woolen

After mostly sitting out the first day of the NFL’s legal tampering period, the Philadelphia Eagles finally made a big offseason splash on Tuesday with a much-needed addition to their secondary. They did so by adding a key member of the most recent Super Bowl champions.

Eagles agree to terms with defensive back Riq Woolen

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles reached an agreement with defensive back Riq Woolen on Tuesday on a one-year deal that could be worth as much as $15M.

Even though the Eagles finished the 2025 season ranked eighth in the NFL against the pass, they still had a big need for more depth in their secondary, and Woolen is a fantastic addition to help fix that. Especially on a one-year deal that has relatively little long-term (or short-term) risk.

Woolen was originally a fifth-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in 2022 and spent the first four years of his career with the team.
