Bam Adebayo scores 83 points and the Heat beat the Wizards, 150-129. On a Tuesday night where the Wizards were competing with Miami, the Heat needed to win this game. The Wizards were down by 13 at 115-102 at the start of the fourth quarter. The Heat went to another gear and pulled away to score 150 and move into the sixth seed with important games vs. Milwaukee and Orlando coming up.
Bam’s stats vs. Wilt’s vs. Kobe’s

Bam made twenty field goals tonight, compared to Kobe making 28 and Wilt Chamberlain made 36 field goals. He got the 83 on less attempts than the other two men. Wilt made 28 free throws and Bam made 36 free throws. Kobe made 18 out of 20 free throws. Bam and Kobe both made seven threes.

Game vs. Wizards and upcoming
Jaime Jaquez Jr. had eight assists, Kasparas Jakucionis had six, Davion Mitchell and Dru Smith had five assists a piece. Will Riley and Alex Sarr had 22 and 28 points for the Wizards. The Wizards committed 23 turnovers and were outrebounded by the Heat by 14. The Wizards did shoot over 50 percent for the game which was a positive.

The Wizards (technically are tanking their season.) But their coach, as per Ira Winderman in the Sun-Sentinel is continuing to say that the team is continuing to “focus on things, the day-to-day, the process, things we can control.” The Wizards have nine players on their team at age 22 and under which leads the NBA.
Top scoring games in Heat history
Lebron James scored 61 points in a 2014 game vs. the Charlotte Bobcats (current day Hornets.) Dwayne Wade had a triple-double in his final game with Miami vs the Brooklyn Nets. He had 25 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. There was also the “Holy 46 game” that he had vs. the Celtics in the 2010 playoffs to help the Heat fight off being swept.
Professional basketball continues
The Heat, with all the hoopla from this night, have to play again Thursday against the Bucks. As a professional basketball league goes, the 83 points will not “carry over” to Thursday. This game will be a “get back” game for the Heat as they didn’t have the mental toughness to beat the Bucks after leading by 12 in the fourth.
Then on Saturday, the Heat play Orlando. No matter how much Orlando has dominated Miami this season, the game on Saturday is important for the Heat to get up on Orlando in wins (for the sixth seed.) A win on Saturday could go a long way towards helping Miami overcome the Magic if they meet in the play-in.
