Fonseca Issues Warning To ATP Elites

Fonseca Issues Warning To ATP Elites

Anybody who saw Joao Fonseca at his best last year knows beyond a shadow of a doubt, he is an extraordinary powerhouse with the capacity to blast anybody off the court. Anybody.

Last night Fonseca finally returned to his top form – after a long slump of mediocrity – with a two set rout of Tommy Paul.

In the previous round of BNP Paribas Open Fonseca won a thriller vs Karen Khachanov which was also impressive.

Suddenly out of nowhere Fonseca is a new man again, and a different player than the one we saw for the last year or so. And best of all, he has the self belief that Carlos and Sinner are in his league and beatable. “I need to believe that I have the necessary level to beat Sinner and Alcaraz. In fact, I do believe it, I think I can achieve it. I just need time, mental work, physical work, and technical improvements in my tennis. There’s a lot to improve, but I’m on the right path,” said the 19 year old Brazilian.

Sinner and Carlos have been warned. Joao Fonseca is not coming to pay homage to the ATP’s top two … he’s coming to take the throne.
