Dominik Mysterio Explains Why Finn Bálor Was Kicked Out of Judgment Day

Dominik Mysterio is finally explaining why The Judgment Day decided to turn on Finn Bálor — and according to him, the writing had been on the wall for a while.

The unexpected moment happened during the March 9 episode of WWE Raw in Seattle, where tensions exploded inside the faction. Dominik confronted Bálor over costing him the Intercontinental Championship, and the situation quickly spiraled out of control. The rest of Judgment Day jumped Bálor, leaving him laid out after Dominik smashed him with a hammer and hit a 6-1-9, signaling the apparent end of Bálor’s time with the group. Now, Dominik is making it clear the move wasn’t random.

While speaking with Brad Gilmore on March 12, 2026, Dominik addressed the attack head-on and said the group had simply reached a breaking point after months of issues behind the scenes.

“Um, you know, it has been a good run for my old pal Finn Bálor. It had to be done. There were a lot of differences going on. We weren’t being a cohesive unit, and at the end of the day we played the Finn Bálor playbook, and that’s what happened. He should have seen it coming.”

Dominik Mysterio also revealed he was especially happy to see JD McDonagh play a key role in the attack, noting the long history between McDonagh and Bálor. He was just glad that JD finally stepped out of Finn’s shadow.

“But I’m just happy that in the end it was my boy JD McDonagh who pulled the trigger. I know JD and Finn have their history, but I’m really happy for JD for finally being able to step out of Finn’s shadow.”

With Dominik now openly embracing the decision, it looks like Judgment Day is moving forward without its longtime leader — and the faction’s power structure may have completely changed overnight. Whether Finn Bálor looks for revenge or the group doubles down on its new direction, one thing is clear: Judgment Day just entered a very different era.

What do you think — did Judgment Day make the right move turning on Finn Bálor, or will they regret it? Let us know.
