Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior will hope to see his side return to winning ways when they face Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Blues were beaten 5-2 by Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their last 16 tie in the French capital on Wednesday night, meaning they face a tough task to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.
Domestically, Rosenior’s side have won just one of their last four matches in the Premier League, and the ex-Brighton and Hove Albion player will want to see his side pick up all three points when they host the Magpies on Saturday.
In the meantime, it has emerged that Chelsea are set to battle it out with one of their fiercest rivals in the race to land a Bundesliga midfielder.
As per TEAMtalk, both Chelsea and Manchester United have been scouting RB Leipzig star Assan Ouédraogo.
The report claims that the two English sides have both been watching the Germany international in action for Leipzig, who he joined from fellow German side Schalke in 2024.

Since making the move to his current side, the midfielder has made a total of 18 appearances for Leipzig across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
The midfielder – who scored just minutes into his senior debut for Germany back in November last year – is quickly building a reputation as one of the most talented young midfielders in the German top flight.
He is contracted to Leipzig until the summer of 2029, though, and the deal doesn’t include a release clause, which puts his current side in a commanding position.
Despite this, the report suggests that the Bundesliga outfit could accept offers in the region of £70-85 million for the midfielder, who primarily operates in the centre of midfield but is also capable of playing on the left flank.
Newcastle United and Barcelona – who faced each other in the Champions League on Wednesday – are also said to have shown interest in the player.
