Maaz Sadaqat Shines in Pakistan’s Big Win in the Second ODI

Young all-rounder Maaz Sadaqat delivered an impressive all-round performance to help Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 128 runs in the second ODI in Mirpur on March 13, levelling the three-match series at 1–1.

Pakistan posted a strong total of 274 runs with the help of Sadaqat, who scored 75 off 46 balls, including six boundaries and five maximums. Salman Agha also made an important contribution with 64 runs before being run out by Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan added 44, which helped Pakistan cross the 250-run mark.

For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain was the most successful bowler with three wickets. Mehidy also picked up two crucial wickets for the team. Meanwhile, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman and Nahid Rana chipped in with one wicket each.

While chasing, Bangladesh lost early wickets and were struggling at 15 for 3. Litton Das tried to fight back with 41 runs and Towhid Hridoy scored 28, but the rest of the team collapsed under pressure.

During the innings, Pakistani all-rounder Hussain Talat injured his left shoulder while trying to stop a boundary from Litton in the sixth over. While saving the boundary, he tumbled into the advertisement hoardings. His injury forced him to leave the field on a stretcher. Soon after, lightning and a hailstorm stopped the match for a while.

When the match resumed, the Pakistan bowlers finished the job as the DLS method came into play. Sadaqat and Haris Rauf took three wickets each, while Shaheen Shah Afridi picked up two wickets for Pakistan. Mohammed Wasim and Faheem Ashraf also took one wicket each as Bangladesh were bowled out for 114 runs in 23.3 overs.

The series decider will be played on March 15 in Mirpur.
