Drew McIntyre remained a major part of the WrestleMania build on the March 13 episode of WWE SmackDown, despite appearing to quit the company earlier in the night.
McIntyre opened the show with an intense confrontation that ended with him declaring “I quit” before leaving through the crowd. The moment created the impression that the Scottish Warrior was walking away from WWE after losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes the previous week.
However, the situation changed before the show came to an end.
Later in the broadcast, Jacob Fatu faced Trick Williams in a singles match. The bout was progressing normally until McIntyre suddenly appeared and attacked Fatu.
The interference came out of nowhere, as McIntyre stormed into the match and took out Fatu while the referee was distracted. Because the official did not see the attack, the match continued without any immediate consequences.
The surprise interference left Fatu vulnerable and allowed Trick Williams to capitalize on the situation. Williams took advantage of the moment and secured the victory following McIntyre’s attack.
The segment made it clear that McIntyre’s earlier declaration that he had quit the company was short-lived. Instead, it appears to have been part of a larger storyline development.
McIntyre’s actions also appear to set up a potential feud with Jacob Fatu as WWE continues building toward WrestleMania 42. With tensions now escalating between the two, their conflict could play a significant role in the coming weeks on SmackDown.
Although McIntyre claimed he was done with WWE earlier in the night, his interference in the Fatu vs. Williams match made it clear that the Scottish Warrior is far from finished.
