Harry Hardwick has a message for fans following his brutal loss at UFC Vegas 114 to newcomer Marwan Rahiki.
Earlier tonight, Rahiki, on his UFC debut, secured a Round 2 TKO victory against Hardwick. He also shattered the Brit’s jaw.
Rahiki dominated for the majority of the 10 minutes. “Freaky” landed the cleaner, harder punches and controlled the pace. Yet “Houdini” somehow survived, and whenever he found an opening, he went all out to back his opponent up. The brutal slugfest continued until Rahiki finally broke Hardwick’s jaw, forcing the latter to retire from the fight.
As soon as the second stanza got over, the Brit informed his corner about his injury, after which the bout was stopped.
Harry Hardwick’s message to fans after UFC Vegas 114 setback
Despite back-to-back losses in the UFC, Harry Hardwick remains in high spirits. From the hospital, he told fans (via Instagram stories) not to worry about his broken jaw, as injuries are a part of the game. He also added that although he may not be able to munch on his favorite snacks for the next few weeks, he can still have smoothies and milkshakes.
“Everybody, I am ok. My jaw is obviously fu**ed, but that’s alright. I like soup. I like smoothies, I like milkshakes, and I like energy drinks. So all these things I can still have. Life is good. I cannot complain about my position. I have an amazing, beautiful girlfriend, a good house, and a good family. No one needs to cry for me. I am ok.”
On Instagram, he also shared an adorable picture with his girlfriend, captioning it:
“I wasn’t good enough tonight, and I lost in the cage, but I’m never losing in life with you by my side ❤️ @hollycadwallender”
