Donald Trump proposes bizarre next fight for Jake Paul

Jake Paul may have bitten off more than he can chew after asking Donald Trump to play matchmaker for him.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer spent years promoting himself as a true fighter and forced people to take notice by facing fans’ favorite athletes and winning, some in unbelievable fashion. As time went on, the narrative shifted in Paul’s career, and as the attention started to grow, the difficulty of those opponents grew too. After beating several combat sports legends, the 29-year-old welcomed Anthony Joshua, a former boxing heavyweight world champion with a devastating knockout pedigree.

As expected, Jake Paul was soundly beaten, suffering the first knockout loss of his career at the hands of ‘AJ’. Talk of retirement has surfaced since the defeat, with Paul making an unprecedented amount of money throughout his relatively short boxing tenure. However, the Ohio native isn’t done just yet and has opened up to Donald Trump about who could be next upon his return.

“I got into the ring with him, and I realized he was much bigger than I thought,” Paul said regarding his last outing against Anthony Joshua. “Not at the weigh-in, not at the press conference. And then I got into the ring, I just saw his size, and I was just like, ‘Okay, this is going to be a tough night.'”

“No, I don’t think [I’ll fight Joshua again]. I think I need to go stay at my weight class. Maybe doing some MMA. We’re promoting fights now on Netflix… Maybe [Oleksandr] Usyk in MMA. Francis Ngannou, Ryan Garcia, maybe Tommy Fury.”

Jake Paul then asked Donald Trump who he believed he should fight next. The United States president is an avid enjoyer of all things combat, having spent decades endorsing fighting in all forms.

Despite having some knowledge of the MMA landscape, Trump made a bizarre proposal for who Jake Paul should meet next.

“Well, probably Khabib [Nurmagomedov],” Trump said. “How about Khabib?”
