Shakur Stevenson (25-0, 11 KOs) and Raymond Muratalla (24-0, 17 KOs) have already shone in 2026, with Stevenson impressively beating Teofimo Lopez, while Muratalla produced a career-best performance to defeat Andy Cruz. A bout between the two has been rumoured since they both won, and Devin Haney, while appearing on the Inside Ring show, weighed in on Stevenson vs Muratalla.

Stevenson-Muratalla appears to be a realistic proposition on paper, with Muratalla the IBF lightweight champion, and Stevenson the WBO and Ring Magazine super lightweight champion. Fighting at either weight could be a possibility.
“I would love the Muratalla fight,” Stevenson told Cigar Talk. “I would beat him so easily.”
Muratalla has made it clear he’s ready to face Stevenson at 135 or 140 pounds.
Devin Haney gives his view on Shakur Stevenson vs Raymond Muratalla
Appearing on the Inside Ring show, Haney revealed he would back Shakur Stevenson against Raymond Muratalla:
“I think that’s a good fight for Shakur,” said Haney. “I was impressed by Muratalla against Andy Cruz. I’m not going to say that I didn’t have him winning that fight, but just didn’t think he would dominate the way that he did, even though it was a close fight on the cards. He showed that he was a much better and seasoned fighter.
“I knew he was good, but didn’t know he was that good. He turned all of us into believers. Muratalla can (give Stevenson a fight) with the type of style he brought in the Cruz fight. He’s a power boxer and has a lot of experience, but I don’t think he can get Shakur out of a rhythm.
“He’s been around for a while, and he’s been good since he was a kid. We sparred when we were 9. I think [Muratalla’s coach] Robert Garcia would put up a good game plan for him to try and implement [pressure], but I don’t think that’s really Muratalla’s style,” added Haney.
