ATP Rankings Report – As of March 16, 2026 – Open Court

No earth-shattering changes, although Indian Wells runner up Daniil Medvedev is back in the top 10, and playing like it.

With a drop from Ben Shelton, Felix Auger-Aliassime is up a spot to No. 8 and within reach of No. 6 and No. 7 if things break REALLY right for him in Miami.

Last year’s Indian Wells champion and finalist, Jack Draper and Holger Rune, drop out of the top 20 with that evil Mr. Injury the main culprit.

Félix Auger-Aliassime (CAN): No. 9 ===========> No. 8
(Auger-Aliassime went out in the fourth round to Arthur Fils. But a drop from Ben Shelton means he moves up a spot to No. 8).

Daniil Medvedev (RUS): No. 11 ===========> No. 10
(Medvedev had a nightmare of a time even getting to Indian Wells, caught in Dubai amid war and having to scramble to find a way to California. But it was the saga as he played renaissance tennis all week and while he didn’t win, he’s back in the top 10).

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina  (ESP): No. 19 ===========> No. 17
(Davidovich Fokina lost to Learner Tien in the fourth round, but it moves him up two spots).

Luciano Darderi (ITA): No. 21 ===========> No. 18
(Darderi didn’t kill it in the desert, losing to qualifier Rinky Hijikata in the round. And he didn’t even defend all of his points. But the way it all worked out he ends up at a new career high, and into the top 20 for the first time).

Frances Tiafoe (USA): No. 22 ===========> No. 20
(Tiafoe seems to be slowly gaining some form, and it was no shame to be beaten by Alexander Zverev in the fourth round. He’s back in the top 20 for the first time since before last year’s US Open).

Learner Tien (USA): No. 27 ===========> No. 21
(In his “home” tournament, the kid did well, making the quarterfinals and leaving himself just 60 points from getting into the top 20 for the first time).

Cameron Norrie (GBR): No. 29 ===========> No. 24
(Norrie, a former champion, makes the quarters and moves up).

Sebastian Ofner (AUT): No. 108 ===========> No. 86
(Ofner, the former No. 37 returning from injury, wins a Challenger in Thionville the first week of Indian Wells and is back in the top 100).

Marco Trungelliti (ARG): No. 132 ===========> No. 116
(Watch out, here he comes again. The 36-year-old Argentine wins a Callenger in Rwanda and is  just four off his career high reached all the way back in March 2019. He’s about 65 points out of the top 100 – could he, at his advanced tennis age, finally break that barrier?)

Stefano Napolitano (ITA): No. 422 ===========> No. 299 (Another player coming back from injury, Napolitano gets back inside the top 300 by making the quarterfinals at the Rwanda Challenger).

Flavio Cobolli (ITA) (No. 14)
Luciano Darderi (ITA) (No. 18)
Learner Tien (USA) (No. 21)
Adolfo Daniel Vallejo (PAR) (No. 99)
Dino Prizmic (CRO) (No. 108)
Coleman Wong (HKG) (No. 120)
Henrique Rocha (POR) (No. 131)
Arthur Géa (FRA) (No. 144)
Toby Samuel (GBR) (No. 171)
Joel Schwaerzler (AUT) (No. 176)
Diego Dedura (GER) (No. 259)

Jack Draper (GBR): No. 14 ===========> No. 26
(It was pretty inevitable that Draper, who is just coming back after being out since the US Open, wouldn’t be able to defend his title. Given that, he did well; he played the match of the tournament in squeezing past Novak Djokovic, but didn’t have much left to counter an in-form Medvedev in he quarters).

Holger Rune (DEN): No. 18 ===========> No. 28
(Finalist a year ago, Rune is on the rehab trail after busting his Achilles tendon last fall. No timetable yet for his return).

Joao Fonseca (BRA): No. 35 ===========> No. 39 (Fonseca remains just outside the seeds for Miami. So not much has changed. He played one of the better matches of the event in going down to Jannik Sinner in two close sets in the fourth round. And it’s going to be a big deal for him when he arrived in Miami. There’s already a new mural in his honour).

Valentin Royer (FRA): No. 60 ===========> No. 69 (Royer lost to countryman Benjamin Bonzi in the first round of Indian Wells and drops his points from winning a Challenger in Rwanda a year ago. He’s coming up against it in his transition year – he has a Challenger final to defend this week, and two semis after that).

Damir Dzumhur (BIH): No. 64 ===========> No. 76 (Dzumhur lost to Jacob Fearnly in the first round of Indian Wells, and drops his points from the Cap Cana Challenger a y ear ago in which he beat Bonzi, Kecmanovic and Mensik on his way to the final).

Matteo Arnaldi (ITA): No. 85 ===========> No. 101
(Arnaldi is really scuffling this year, and his loss to Tien in the second round, ater making the third round a year ago, drops him out of top 100).

Borna Coric (CRO): No. 146 ===========> No. 178
(Coric, who has been out since losing in the first round of the US Open and had shoulder surgery last November (not for the first time), drops his points from winning a Challenger in Thionville a year ago. He won another this week a year ago in Croatia, so he’ll drop more).
