Meghan Walker’s “WWE Obsession” Sultry Video Sparks Fan Backlash Over Lack of Wrestling

Meghan Walker is trending—and she hasn’t even had a full in-ring debut yet.

The WWE NXT newcomer set social media off after posting a video declaring herself “your new WWE obsession,” quickly becoming one of the most talked-about names online. The clip spread rapidly, with fans debating everything from her presentation to her lack of televised matches so far. Walker addressed the reaction head-on in her caption, pushing back against criticism as the video gained traction.

“Wrong? No #wwe #wwenxt”

As the post circulated, some fans actually praised the approach, seeing her character work as intentional and effective even without matches being shown yet. One fan reacting to the video framed it as a strong gimmick, even while acknowledging the criticism.

“This is a good gimmick. They should have her on a lifetime contract but all she does is this. Never wrestles. Ever. Only thirst traps. I see the vision.”

At the same time, a large portion of the audience questioned why there hasn’t been any in-ring footage to go along with the attention she’s getting. One fan summed up that frustration directly while reacting to the viral clip.

“I’m not tryna be that guy but where’s the wrestling?”

That sentiment continued to spread as more users chimed in, with another fan pointing to a broader concern about presentation versus performance.

“i don’t want to be mean but I’m tired of the same type of girls entering nxt, atleast show us the wrestling first? Idk”

Others were even more blunt in their reaction, calling for action instead of image.

“Okay tacky time. Get in the ring or kick rocks”

Another fan added a sarcastic take, questioning whether she can back up the hype with actual moves.

“I mean yea that’s cool but can you do a destroyer off the top rope”

Despite the criticism, there were also fans defending Walker, pointing out that she only recently began training at the WWE Performance Center and shouldn’t be judged too quickly. One supporter explained that her timeline matters and that building visibility early isn’t a bad thing.

“Not sure why people are being so weird about Meghan… She just got to the PC a couple months ago to start training…. I’m sure she is training hard and that we will all be impressed when she does begin wrestling. She is allowed to get her name out there however she wants….”

Walker reportedly signed with WWE last November and has already worked a couple of untelevised matches, though no footage has been released. For now, her rise is being driven almost entirely by presentation—and it’s clearly getting attention. Trending without a televised match is rare, but Walker has managed to pull it off, putting herself in the spotlight before officially stepping into the ring on NXT.

Do you think Meghan Walker trending this early means WWE has something big planned for her, or should she prove herself in the ring first before getting this level of attention? Drop your thoughts and let us know.
