Eagles add Hollywood Brown in Free Agency to fill the WR3 role.
The Philadelphia Eagles are signing wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to a one-year deal worth up to $6.5 million, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports, with multiple sources confirming the agreement on Tuesday.
Brown spent the past two seasons in Kansas City. A shoulder injury — specifically a sternoclavicular joint injury sustained during a preseason game — kept him off the field for 15 of 17 regular-season games in 2024. He underwent surgery and did not return until the Chiefs’ playoff run. He bounced back in 2025, appearing in all 16 regular-season games and finishing with 49 receptions for 587 yards and five touchdowns on 74 targets.
The signing lands Brown in Philadelphia at age 28, joining a receiving corps that already features A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Should A.J. Brown remain on the roster, Hollywood Brown figures to work as the team’s third receiver — a role left vacant after Jahan Dotson departed for Atlanta earlier in free agency. If the Eagles do trade their All-Pro wideout, whose future with the team remains unresolved, Hollywood Brown would step into a larger role alongside Smith.
The Eagles drafted Smith long before this offseason’s uncertainty began, and their offense has relied heavily on the top-two tandem for multiple seasons. Quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley, and tight end Dallas Goedert anchor an offense that was already among the NFL’s most productive entering the offseason.
Brown was selected 25th overall out of Oklahoma in the 2019 NFL Draft and had his best NFL season in 2021 with the Baltimore Ravens, posting 91 receptions for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns. That remains his only 1,000-yard campaign. He has since played for the Arizona Cardinals before his two-year tenure in Kansas City. Across seven seasons, Brown has hauled in 371 receptions for 4,322 yards and 33 touchdowns, averaging 11.6 yards per reception.
At $6.5 million on a one-year structure, the Eagles absorb minimal financial risk while adding a proven speed threat with postseason experience. The deal gives the front office flexibility as trade conversations around A.J. Brown continue to swirl this offseason.
The 2026 NFL schedule has not yet been released. Philadelphia’s first confirmed opponent and game date remain pending.
