The Miami Dolphins have undergone a major overhaul so far this offseason but there is one star who will not be part of the purge.
The Dolphins have reportedly made it known around the league that De’Von Achane is not on the market this offseason.
Teams have inquired about a trade for the running back, 24, but Miami has shut down all discussions, informing their league rivals that he is not available, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Achane, who is entering the final season of his four-year rookie deal with Miami, appears to be a long-term part of new head coach Jeff Hafley’s plan down in South Florida.
Achane rushed for a career-high 1,350 yards and eight touchdowns last season, while also contributing to the Dolphins’ passing game. He finished with 67 catches for 488 yards and four touchdowns.
Miami’s new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan appeared to suggest that the Dolphins would look to retain Achane when asked about the possibility of a contract extension at the NFL scouting combine.

The Dolphins have released quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after his nightmare 2025 season
‘I mean, he’s a marvelous player,’ Sullivan said at the time. ‘We want him to be part of this thing moving forward. … We will have those conversations with him as well as some other guys as we move down the road, but that’s going to be later in the summer.’
Meanwhile, the Dolphins have offloaded a number of stars this offseason with their latest high-profile exit coming earlier this week.
Miami traded star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos as their rebuild continued on Tuesday.
Waddle was packaged with a fourth-round pick and sent to Denver in exchange for the Broncos’ first-round pick this year (30th overall) as well as a third-round pick and a fourth-round pick.
Earlier this month, the Dolphins released quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, agreeing to a deal with Malik Willis to replace him.
The 28-year-old Tagovailoa, who only signed a four-year, $212 million contract in July 2024, endured a nightmare 2025 campaign as Miami went 7-10 and missed out on the playoffs once again.
Meanwhile, controversial NFL star Tyreek Hill, who won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs back in February 2020, was also axed by the Dolphins last month.
Furthermore, the Dolphins traded Minkah Fitzpatrick to their AFC East rivals, the New York Jets, last week. In return, Miami received a 2026 seventh-round pick, which was originally the Los Angeles Chargers’.
