NieuwsFiets Media & Events says it has taken the initiative to organise a new international OEM trade show, scheduled for 6–8 October 2027 at Expo Greater Amsterdam in Vijfhuizen.
According to NieuwsFiets Media, CycleExpo Amsterdam is the “new alternative meeting place for the international bicycle industry.”
Manufacturers and suppliers from around the world are invited to participate in this accessible event, located in the ‘backyard’ of Schiphol Airport. The deliberate choice for Expo Greater Amsterdam was made to ensure maximum logistical convenience for both international visitors and exhibitors. “The distance between Schiphol and Expo Greater Amsterdam is only 16 km — it simply doesn’t get any closer. And Amsterdam is just around the corner, offering a wide range of hotels,” say organisers Arnauld and Rick Hackmann.

The concept is aimed at creating a meeting platform that remains affordable for the international bicycle industry. “International trade has gone through challenging years, putting pressure on many budgets. You cannot ignore that reality. That’s why we have chosen Full-Service Booths, which provide exhibitors with a complete presentation solution, including printed back walls, ensuring each exhibitor maintains its own look & feel — without requiring massive investments,” Hackmann continues.
“With these Full-Service Booths, we have gained positive experience over the past four years at our local trade show, B2B FESTIVAL. Exhibitors need to bring relatively little materials while still being able to present their products in an attractive and professional way. This allows them to significantly reduce costs on custom booth construction.”
Experience the unique Dutch cycling culture first-hand
The Netherlands is one of the few countries where cycling culture is deeply embedded in daily life. For international exhibitors, an international trade show in the Netherlands is therefore particularly inspiring, as the cycling infrastructure and the standard of many bicycle retail stores are remarkably high.
“Exhibitors will have the opportunity, around CycleExpo Amsterdam, to explore independently and experience the specific Dutch cycling culture with their own eyes,” says Hackmann. “In fact, it is only logical that an international bike show should be organized from the Netherlands. Of course, there are already well-established international bicycle trade fairs, but we believe there is room for a new alternative.”
Gauging international support within the bicycle industry
In the coming period, extensive efforts will be made to assess the level of support for CycleExpo Amsterdam within the industry. Provided there is sufficient interest, the doors of the first CycleExpo Amsterdam will open on Wednesday, 6 October 2027.
“We hope to launch with around 200 international exhibitors and grow further from there. Four years ago, we started B2B FESTIVAL in a similar way,” Hackmann explains, emphasizing that CycleExpo Amsterdam will be a very different type of trade show. “Primarily because the target audience is entirely different. With B2B FESTIVAL, we focus on bicycle retailers from the Netherlands and Belgium. With CycleExpo Amsterdam we are targeting the entire international bicycle industry — manufacturers, buyers, product managers, and more. It is specifically for them that we are organizing this new alternative meeting point.”
