Chelsea suffered a humiliating 8-2 aggregate defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last 16 after a 3-0 loss in the second leg on Tuesday night.

The Blues were beaten 5-2 by the holders in the French capital in last week’s first leg, despite equalising twice.

Liam Rosenior’s side knew they would need a minor miracle at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, but fell behind early on when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia put the visitors in front.

Bradley Barcola then doubled their lead, before Senny Maluku added a third to complete PSG’s convincing victory.

The result continues the Blues’ poor run of form, and Rosenior will be desperate to see his side return to winning ways when they face Everton on Saturday.

In the meantime, it has emerged that the west London side are plotting a huge move for an England star during this summer’s transfer window.

As per TEAMtalk, Chelsea are preparing an audacious move to sign Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers this summer.

The report claims that the Blues have identified the Englishman as a top transfer target as they look to bolster their ranks, and the London side are ready to make a move to sign the player regardless of whether Villa qualify for next term’s Champions League.

Rogers, 23, joined Villa from Championship side Middlesbrough in 2024 and has since established himself as one of the most impressive attacking midfielders in the Premier League.

In total he has featured 112 times for the Villans across all competitions, scoring 27 goals and registering 24 assists.

Chelsea’s co-director of recruitment, Joe Shields, is said to be a long-term admirer of Rogers, having previously signed the midfielder for Manchester City when he was a youngster.

Rogers’ contract at Villa Park is set to run until the end of the 2030/31 season, but the report suggests that Chelsea could attempt to lure him to Stamford Bridge this summer.
