Venue, timings for Kabras, KCB matches in Uganda confirmed

The cross-border quarterfinal stage of the Enterprise Cup returns this weekend with Kenyan and Ugandan clubs set to renew their regional rivalry in Kampala.

Two Kenyan giants, Kabras Sugar RFC and KCB Rugby, will travel to Kampala where their fixtures will be staged at the Muteesa II Royal Stadium on Saturday.

Enterprise Cup opener

The opening match will see Kabras Sugar face Uganda’s most decorated side Heathens Rugby Club in the early kickoff scheduled for 2:00 p.m. The clash is expected to be a stern test for the Kenyan champions against a Heathens side that has historically dominated Ugandan rugby.

Attention will then shift to the second quarterfinal where Ugandan champions Black Pirates Rugby Club take on last season’s semifinalists KCB Rugby in the late kickoff at 4:00 p.m.

The Kenyan sides booked their places in the regional last eight with commanding performances in the domestic round. KCB Rugby delivered a ruthless statement of intent after overpowering Blak Blad Rugby Club 60–7 during the local quarterfinals played at the KCB Sports Club.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

Defending champions Kabras Sugar progressed after seeing off Kenya Cup rivals Kenya Harlequin FC in a high-stakes encounter that doubled as both a Kenya Cup and Enterprise Cup quarterfinal, winning 48–13 to secure their place in the regional stage.

Elsewhere, Menengai Oilers advanced courtesy of a walkover after Nakuru RFC failed to honour their fixture, while Nondescripts RFC sealed qualification with a hard-fought victory over Strathmore Leos.

The Enterprise Cup remains one of the oldest rugby competitions in the region and was created to strengthen ties between East African clubs. Over the years, the tournament has grown into a prestigious contest that not only crowns domestic champions but also determines regional supremacy.
