But first, online multiplayer is in the works.
If you’re a fan of messing around with settings and hacking The Matrix, it is possible to drive Assetto Corsa Rally in virtual reality presently.
A slight exaggeration, but there are mods, such as UEVR Injector, which make it possible, but the ideal scenario is native support from the Supernova Games Studios game creators.
At the title’s unveiling last November, Traxion spoke to Assetto Corsa Rally’s Game Director Irvin Zonca about VR,
“As soon as we feel like we have a first version of VR that we feel like we want to release, we will do that,” he said back then.
“Expect it to come soon during the Early Access phase, but we still need to work a little bit on that.”
With the feature absent as it stands, Zonca provided an update on its development during a fan Q&A session today, 19th March 2026:
“VR… Is among our top priorities currently.
“We’re working on it, but unfortunately, I don’t have a date yet to communicate today.”
In fact, it transpires that the creation team is mainly focused on online multiplayer’s debut presently.
“The fact is that right now, the online game mode is absorbing most of our people. Really, we are a small team and we cannot parallelise too many activities by allocating the same number of people across many fronts.
“So things [with VR] are progressing slowly but steadily. Just stay sure that we know how [much] VR is very much needed for a game like this and it’s on our top priority list, definitely.”
The early access rally sim will also receive a rally academy at some point, to help onboard players new to the sport and provide tips for improvement. Zonca talked passionately about a visit to the Phil Price Rally School in Wales.
However, content such as this is deprioritised until features such as online multiplayer, physics improvements and VR are created.
“This is also why other stuff like, [a] rally academy, are not coming soon, because we first have to tackle all these different challenges and bring them to a finish.
“I’m very much aware of how important [VR] is for a sim racing game.”
As part of the same panel, it was teased that among the upcoming cars are one Subaru and one Peugeot from the 1990s.
