Wednesday we ( Susan, Tim, Tracey & I) took the vaporetto (water bus) to Murano from Santa Lucia in Venice. I had booked a demonstration of glass blowing in Murano. It was sprinkling when we left and windy and cold most of the day.
We saw a master glass blower make a drinking glass, then a one of a horse rearing. He made the latter in a minute or so after the molten glass was removed from the oven. Murano glass is beautiful and we spent some time looking in the shop afterwards.
We wandered around Murano for a short while before taking another water bus to Burano, another island which, like Murano is part of the city of Venice.
Burano is known for its vibrantly colored houses, lace making and seafood. It also has a church with a tower that leans much more than Pisa.

We had lunch at a small place, took a few more photos and returned to Venice, walked to St Marks square then back you our apartment with the obligatory stop at a grocery store.
