Chelsea suffered yet another dismal defeat under Liam Rosenior as they were beaten 3-0 by Everton on Saturday.
Beto netted twice and Iliman Ndiaye was also on target as the Toffees cruised to an easy victory against the Blues, inflicting a devastating blow on the visitors’ hopes of finishing in the top four and qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
Rosenior’s side have now lost four consecutive matches across all competitions and sit sixth in the Premier League standings.
While pressure continues to mount on the Englishman, it is now emerging that the west London club are trailing one of their fierce rivals in the race to sign a La Liga midfielder.
As per CaughtOffside, Liverpool are currently ahead of Chelsea as the two sides pursue moves to sign Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga.
The report claims that the Reds are long-term admirers of the Frenchman and, having discussed a move for the player internally for some time now, the Merseyside outfit have held two separate rounds of talks with the player’s representatives.

It is claimed that the central midfielder’s time in the Spanish capital could be coming to an end this summer, with the La Liga giants prepared to allow the player to leave for as little as £43 million.
Camavinga, 23, joined Real from French side Rennes in 2021 and has since built a reputation as one of the best central midfielders in Europe.
In total the France international has made 213 appearances for Los Blancos across all competitions, regularly featuring at full-back as well as in his natural position in midfield.
Chelsea are also said to have been working on a potential deal for the midfielder as they prepare for the possible departure of Enzo Fernandez this summer, however it is Liverpool who have so far shown most interest.
