Kris Statlander has addressed a notable segment with Toni Storm while offering her take on what makes Storm such an unpredictable and entertaining performer to share the screen with.
Speaking with Ring The Belle, Statlander was asked about the moment during the build-up to their singles match at AEW WrestleDream when Storm’s characteristically unfiltered personality sparked an exchange that got people talking. Statlander took it in stride.
“To be fair, when it comes to her, I feel like her natural instinct is to process everything as gay banter when it’s any interaction with any woman really,” Statlander said. “So I was just there to make a match and do what I can. If I was giving her vibes, sorry my bad. You just have to soak in the moments for what they are.”
Statlander also spoke to the unpredictable nature of working with Storm, suggesting the spontaneity is part of what makes her so compelling. “I don’t even know if she knows what’s gonna come out of her mouth half the time,” Statlander said. “So it’s hard to give a heads up when you don’t even know your brain is thinking. She’s as unhinged as possible and we all love her for it.”
The rivalry between Statlander and Storm was one of the more prominent programs in the AEW women’s division during the latter part of 2025. Statlander dethroned Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship before the two met again in a singles match at AEW WrestleDream. Storm has since been written off AEW television following an injury sustained around the time of AEW Revolution, with AEW reportedly prepared for her to miss the remainder of 2026 at minimum.
