Swerve Strickland Targets Wembley Main Event After Tasting The Top Spot

Swerve Strickland already knows what it feels like to stand at the top of the card inside Wembley Stadium, and now he’s making it clear that getting back to that position has become his biggest obsession.

During a recent conversation with WhatCulture Wrestling, the former AEW World Champion looked ahead to AEW’s return to Wembley and what he wants to accomplish when the company heads back to the historic stadium. Instead of focusing on specific opponents, Swerve made it clear that positioning himself in the main event again is the real prize.

After previously sharing the stage at Wembley in major matches against top-tier names, including Bryan Danielson, Swerve explained that once a performer reaches that level, the desire to return becomes hard to shake. He described the feeling as something that sticks with you — something that keeps driving you forward.

“Oh, the you know the aim is always the main event you know that now that I like tasted the main event there you know it’s that’s the that’s truly the addiction to it now try to get back to the main event try to like once again I was always talking about evolving so like this evolution of Swerve going back to the main event of a Wembley stadium is always going to be the goal.”

Swerve didn’t stop there. He also pointed to his continued growth as a performer and recent momentum as reasons why he believes he’s in an even better position to headline Wembley again. With major victories under his belt, he suggested that fans would see a different version of him if he returns to that spot.

“I feel like it’s also a different version of me that you would see in the main event this time around as well you Especially having like um one of the biggest victories of my AEW career over Kenny Omega like not that long ago. I feel like definitely more than ready.”

Swerve Strickland has built his reputation on steady evolution, and these comments show that his focus remains locked on climbing back to the biggest stage available. With AEW continuing to stack major events and Wembley remaining one of the company’s most important annual shows, his drive to return to the top match on the card could shape where his story heads next. If momentum continues in his favor, it may only be a matter of time before he finds himself standing under those lights once again.

Do you think Swerve Strickland should return to the Wembley main event, or are there other AEW stars who deserve that spot first? Share your thoughts and feedback below and join the conversation.
