Leafs lineup news: Rielly, Stolarz return for practice, Ekman-Larsson leaves early, Hildeby called up on emergency basis
Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz and defenceman Morgan Rielly returned to practice, after missing Saturday’s game against the Ottawa Senators.
Stolarz took a shot to the throat from William Nylander during warmups prior to Saturday’s game against the Senators and was released from hospital. He was a regular participant during Monday’s practice.
Rielly was listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury, after aggravating a previously existing ailment during Friday’s loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.
Toronto called up goaltender Dennis Hildeby from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies on an emergency basis. Hildeby posted a 5-6-4 record with a .912 save percentage in 19 appearances with the Maple Leafs this season. Considering that Joseph Woll has taken on a much larger workload throughout March, it’s possible Hildeby will start Tuesday’s game against the Boston Bruins.
Hildeby did not attend Monday’s practice.
At the time of this filing, head coach Craig Berube has not confirmed a starter. Berube called out Woll following Friday’s loss, believing that his goaltender needed to make a timely save. After Saturday’s loss to the Senators, Berube was further dismayed by the notion that his team was deflated, after surrendering an early lead to their provincial rivals.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson left practice early, according to TSN’s Mark Masters. Ekman-Larsson returned to the lineup Tuesday, after the birth of his child. If either Ekman-Larsson or Rielly are unavailable for Tuesday’s game, expect Philippe Myers to remain in the lineup. Myers was paired with Simon Benoit during practice.
Michael Pezzetta is expected to be a healthy scratch. Pezzetta was recalled ahead of the weekend, but did not play in either Friday or Saturday’s game.

Matias Maccelli-Bo Groulx-Dakota Joshua
Steven Lorentz-Jacob Quillan-Calle Jarnkrok
Morgan Rielly-Brandon Carlo
