Apidura celebrates 10 years of Expedition Series Equipment with all-new launch

10 years after introducing the world’s first welded, waterproof bikepacking packs, Apidura unveils the all-new Expedition Series -a complete evolution of the benchmark system that defined bikepacking. Developed over a decade of real-world use, refinement and rider feedback, the Expedition Series has been re-engineered from the ground up around three uncompromising principles: Stable. Waterproof. Durable.

This launch represents Apidura’s unwavering commitment to market leadership through continuous innovation. By dedicating a decade to refining the original benchmark and grounding the new Expedition Series in the core brand principles, the company reaffirms its promise to equip modern explorers with the most reliable, technically advanced gear available.

This strategic evolution not only solidifies Apidura’s position as an industry pioneer but also drives business growth by setting a new, higher standard for performance bikepacking products worldwide.

A Decade in the Making

In 2016, Apidura launched the world’s first welded, waterproof bikepacking bags – originally named the “Dry” Series and later known as the Expedition Series. It set a new standard for performance bikepacking products.

The 2026 relaunch marks the first major design overhaul since its inception. In the ten years since, bikepacking has evolved dramatically, multi-surface riding and all-road exploration are now the norm. The updated Expedition Series reflects these shifts – refining stability, integration and fit while preserving the simplicity that made the original a benchmark.

The all-new Expedition Series, a collection based on 14 different unique pieces with different sizes and capacities, is the most technically advanced bikepacking gear Apidura has ever produced -informed by a decade of real-world riding and built for the demands of modern exploration.

Stable, Waterproof and Durable to its Core

Stability is built into every contact point between the rider, pack, and bike. Integrated, lightweight attachment systems, such as the new clamp-free Expedition Handlebar System, eradicate movement without heavy hardware. For the Saddle Packs, stability is enhanced using a Stability Channel that conforms to the seatpost, supported by silicone grip strips and a Hypalon Cradle to compress contents toward the base of the pack.

Waterproofing remains a non-negotiable core principle of the Expedition Series. The packs feature fully seam welded construction and an updated, lightweight three-layer Expedition-grade fabric, which enhances performance without compromising protection. This builds on a decade of experience since Apidura pioneered welded waterproof bikepacking gear in 2016.

These packs are “Built to Last and Designed for Repair,” combining reinforcements in high-wear areas with solutions that reduce stress and flex, ensuring long-term durability without unnecessary weight. Across the Frame Packs, Zipper Control Rails have been introduced to improve structural stability around the zipper, preventing bulging when fully loaded and reducing stress for smooth operation. Additionally, SoftVent Air Valves provide a lightweight, hardware-free system to maintain compression.

This new collection is available from 20th March 2026. The Expedition Handlebar System will be launched as a pre-order, with delivery to follow mid-April.
